The Simply Floor Coverings site was originally designed by ikandy interactive and was one of the handful of projects that ikandy shared with O6.
Together with ikandy, we decided to use the osCommerce software package as a base for the SFC store. We installed the software and updated the skin to match the rest of the site. Many customizations would be required, which is where O6 really came in.
The most important update was to add a module that allows SFC to create promotional codes. Users who enter a valid promotional code are given either a percentage or a fixed dollar amount off of their order’s total (depending on what value is assigned to that code).
We then updated the software to allow for products to be flagged as featured. Featured products appear on the home page and in a “Featured Product” box on lower-level pages.
Finally, we modified the site code to force an SSL certificate to be used, keeping each user’s information secure.
